INNOVATIVE GAS SYSTEMS (IGS) Announces Opening of New Office in Moscow, Russia
Houston, Texas November 28, 2005 -- Innovative Gas Systems, a technology based company headquartered
in Houston, Texas, USA with operating facilities in Europe, Asia, and South America announces the opening of
its new company in Moscow, Russia.
Innovative Gas Systems’ products are focused on the separation of Nitrogen and Oxygen gases from compressed air
streams. The main product that is now being introduced to the Russian market specializes in the production of
Nitrogen from Compressed Air.
The base technology utilizes a polymeric hollow fiber the size of a human hair. These proprietary fibers are
manufactured in the company’s own California, USA facility and are covered by over 75 US patents. Millions of
these fibers are bundled together in metal canisters. These metal canisters are subsequently shipped to the IGS
facilities around the world where they are incorporated into different systems for the separation of Compressed
Air into a Nitrogen Stream and waste gas stream. It is the Nitrogen Stream that is utilized in a variety of industries.
The applications for the Nitrogen Gas produced by this method number in the thousands. The primary applications
that the Generon IGS Company has focused on to date have been the Oil and Gas, Chemical Industry, Food Storage,
and Marine Ships.
The major advantage of this technology is that it can be produced at the location where the product is needed and
at a much lower cost.
The traditional methods of providing Nitrogen to these applications require transportation of the product in the
form of liquid Nitrogen at a temperature of -195oC. In some of the above mentioned applications supply by this
method is either not possible due to transport distances or not economical.
The production of Nitrogen utilizing the Hollow Fiber Technology is accomplished by the following steps:
A compressed air source (14 - 24 bar) is fed into a filtration package upstream of the Hollow Fibers. This
filtration package is designed to remove water, compressor oil carry over, and any particulates to .01 micron.
Once the compressed air has been cleaned it is fed into the Hollow Fibers. Inside the Hollow Fibers the oxygen
and wastes gas pass through the side of the fiber and vented to atmosphere and the purified Nitrogen passes out
the end. The purity of the Nitrogen can be adjusted between 95-99% by means of a PLC controller.
The company reference list numbers in the thousands, but include the majors such as Exxon Mobil, Chevron Texaco,
BP, Stat Oil, Conoco, Kerr McGee, Shell, Saudi Aramco, Petrobras, Pemex, Sinopec, etc and additionally all the
major service companies.
The company has decided to open a facility in Russia to better serve their growing customer base in the Oil and Gas
