Position Title: Project Designer, CAD Designer
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Position Summary:
The position has responsibility for coordination and execution of technical layouts, detail drawings, assemblies, and bills of material as assigned and coordinated by Project Engineers. Detail drawings include structural components, piping components and sub-assemblies, electrical wiring diagrams, instrumentation connections, welding maps, and assembly instructions.
The drawings may vary from 2-D AutoCad drawings to 3-D Inventor models. Reference drawings are often provided in standard equipment, but this position must be able to create and design equipment and piping assemblies from initial concept through completed system. This Designing position works closely with multiple project managers, so an aptitude for multi-project coordination and organizational skills are essential.
The CAD Designer is an essential role in projects meeting deadlines and customers overall satisfaction with Generon products; so a professional and positive attitude can lead to growth and advancement within the company.
Requirements / Typical Duties:
Typical duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- Work with Engineers and/or Sales to verify and approve project proposals.
- Layout, design, and detail components and assemblies to project requirements in a timely manner.
- Layout structural drawings with weld callouts and weld maps for certified project requirements.
- Assemble component drawings for General Arrangement drawings, including overall dimensions, work space restrictions, and securing and lifting requirements.
- Maintain an organized log or directory of project drawings, including back-ups, revision levels, and supporting documentation for final project release to Project Manager.
- Be responsive to Manufacturing changes and update drawings to reflect "As Built" changes to final drawings.
- Candidates will be expected to gain a working knowledge of Generon's ISO quality program and ensure that all drawings adhere to same.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
• CAD design, drafting related education or relative work experience in the Drafting /Designing discipline.
• AutoCAD / Inventor knowledge highly desirable.
• Basic computer skills in the Microsoft Suite.
• Experience with industry standards and codes, such as ATEX, IEC, NEC, ASME, ANSI, CE is beneficial.
• Experience in working with multiple tasks or projects.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
